IIM-A’s Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) is delighted to present Healthcare Accelerator, 2016, in partnership with The Dasra Girl Alliance. The 3-month program aims to accelerate, nurture and invest in innovative and scalable early stage startups in the healthcare space. The selected startups, who will constitute the programme cohort, will be individually mentored by experts in the domain and leverage the wide networks of CIIE, Dasra, C-CAMP and InnoVen Capital for industry connects. An intensive interactive session will kick-start the journey of these startups towards transforming their models into investment-worthy business propositions. The cohort will also get an opportunity to showcase their enterprises to a consortium of active investors on the Investor Demo Day as a part of the programme. Through the accelerator, start-ups that meet CIIE’s criteria of ‘investible’ (maximum of two startups) will be selected for a seed investment commitment of upto INR 70 lakhs, followed by mentoring and advisory support provided by CIIE’s portfolio team.
CIIE has been an active player in the entrepreneurial ecosystem in India since 2002. In 2008, its investment arm CIIE Initiatives was incorporated with the objective of providing sufficient financial support to startups that are innovative, scalable and sustainable. Since then, it is has been working towards identifying, nurturing, mentoring, providing strategic support and investing in startups across various sectors - healthcare, food & agribusiness, livelihoods, energy, education, cleantech and ICT. CIIE has reached 30,000 teams and 350 enterprises of which it has supported 2500 startups and seeded 100+ startups. Survival rate of its investees has been an overwhelming 90% (started investing in 2009) with a leverage ratio of 14:1.
Dasra is India's leading strategic philanthropy foundation working with philanthropists and social entrepreneurs to create large scale social change. Launched in 2013 in collaboration with USAID, Kiawah Trust and the Piramal Foundation, the Dasra Girl Alliance is a multi-year INR 250 crore initiative to shape an environment that invests in the potential of adolescent girls as agents of change. The Alliance seeks to build an ecosystem to achieve a systemic change by fostering innovation, improving outcomes and reaching scale to empower and address the healthcare needs of five million adolescent girls, mothers & children in India.

Business Development: Acceleration of go-to-market processes and industry connects aiming to create mature companies ready for their next stage.

The Accelerator doesn’t end after three months. We continue to help our alumni founders build and grow their companies and avail to them the resources we and our community can provide.
